If you are a long-time Senseo owner looking to upgrade, this is a good one. They've added an LCD water indicator, XL water tank, and much tighter seals and construction. However, the best change is the adjustable-height spout! And if you own a Senseo, you see the need for one. The metallic color matches most other kitchen appliances. You won't be disappointed! NOTHING makes better cup of coffee than a Senseo... nothing!

Bought the Deluxe for the office. Liked it but spout was too low for some cups. Bought the Supreme and took the Deluxe home. Love both machines. Gave it 4 stars because the spout is still too low for some cups.

This is my third Senseo and I could not be happier. My first one was black so when they came out with a red one, I donated the black to my office and am enjoying my red one at home. When I bought a vacation home recently in NC, I chose the new Metallic Chrome with LCD Display. It is awesome. I invented a way to use the Senseos to make tea by placing a teabag in the larger of the two pod holders. Now Senseo discovered it as well, and have included a 3rd pod holder with this model for their own tea pods which they are now marketing! You can use any teabag as long as it is seated correctly in the holder.

I bought this unit since there seemed to be a fair amount of pod coffees available for it. I bought about 6 different brands in addition to the Senseo brand to see which I liked the best, etc. Wow, did I make a mistake. Unless you want to stick exclusively with Senseo coffees, you should not get this unit. Most of the other makes of coffee pods are the wrong diameter or too thick for the single-pod insert while being too thin for the double-pod insert. And most of them can't be double-stacked in the double-pod holder. Apparently this unit forms a pressure seal, so if the thickness or the diameter of the pod is off you won't get a decent cup of coffee, or the machine won't seal, or if it does it will only partially seal and you'll get a nice spray of hot water all over. I'll probably throw this unit up for sale on an auction site once I've run through the coffee I have. I will then switch to Keurig. In its defense it does make a good cup of Senseo coffee, but I want more than 4 or 5 types of coffees to choose from.

Our family loves the Senseo machine, and loves the switch to pod coffee brewing! I would highly recommend a pod coffee maker, and the Senseo brand.

Gives a very small cup of coffee as a final product. Am unsure if it is worth the money.

I bought this on to replace the black smaler version I already had
this is a great coffemaker and once you make your first cup of Hazelnut coffe using senseos pods you will never go back to a "conventional" Coffemaker.
We absolutly love Senseos Coffemakers

I got this for Christmas, and I love the coffee. But then the plastic piece that holds the lid shut broke. I called Senseo, and they said they would send me a prepaid shipping label, and as soon as they receive the machine, they would send me a new one. After a couple of weeks and not receiving the label, I called and they said they would send out another label. It's now been 6 weeks since my original call, and I am back to using my old coffee maker. I am going to call again next week. But I'm beginning to think their warranty service is crap. Buyer Beware.

I ordered this for my office and we had to send it back. THe coffee is extremely weak and the selection of pods is poor. We got a Keurig instead, which I highly recommend. There is a wide selection of k-cups from many different brands of coffee and tea manufacturers and it tastes excellent. Don't go with the Senseo. ANd the large capacity water tank that Amazon sells as a bundle with this model does not actually fit this model.

Overall, an OK machine. Quality control is suspect, as I am obviously not the only person who received a machine with a poorly fitting water tank, although mine works despite the aesthetic insult. The coffee, unfortunately, needs to be microwaved as soon as its done, because the temperature is woefully inadequate. This is a very poor design flaw. And despite the admitted single serve convenience, pod coffee still can't beat drip, despite Senseo's silly ad campaign about "friends not letting friends use drip". They could only wish that they had the same taste quality as drip - they don't.
Update - Feb 23, 2007 I finally gave up on really terrible coffee! I donated the Senseo to GoodWill and bought a French press. If you like Denny's or McDonald's coffee, you'll LOVE Senseo!

I love this machine. I love the fact that I don't have a pot of coffee getting stale on me. Plus, I love the fact the my coffee doesn't get cold before I can finish it! The coffee is great, especially the Dark Roast. The Cappuccino is also yummy! My only negative word is that I cannot find the Pickwick Tea Pods anywhere in the Omaha, NE., area, so I can't redeem my coupons:( I love a cup of hot tea in the afternoons and evenings.
I must also mention that the frothy layer at the top is delicious, I want to make coffee all of the time with this machine:) I give this an A++++

The addition of the adjustable spout is great - however, it still does not accomodate travel mugs/tumblers...but it does fit regular sized coffee mugs now (still not sure why the first model only accomodated dixie cup sized mugs?). The fact that you have to lift the top up to get the pods out is still a nuisance since I have nowhere else to put this machine other than underneath a cabinet...the machine looks much nicer than the original models, though, and the blue water level indicator light is kind of neat. Heat of the water is about the same as the old machine - I still find myself microwaving the coffee for about 20 seconds right after I make it. All in all, not a bad addition to the family.

I was very disappointed in the new pod holders. They changed the design of these and the lid just enough that pods from Baronet, Java and Wolfgang Puck
no longer work properly. Single pods are just too large for the single holder
and using the 2-pod holder most often results in weak coffee. They could easily have incorporated the new features without the physical dimension changes. Typical marketing ploy, let's change things just enough to make people annoyed. From a retired Philips employee.

This is the second Senseo Supreme I have gotten from Amazon. I returned the first, as the water tank did not fit into the back of the unit completely. (Unlike the profile picture shown with this item, my tank did not fit snuggly at the top and sticks out a little more than a quarter of an inch. Not huge aesthetically, but the valve in the bottom of the water tank couldn't get pushed up enough to let water into the machine.)
The second machine I received is a little better, but the tank still doesn't fit properly. The machine functions fine, so I will keep this second one.
The adjustability feature of the "spout" for coffee cup size did me no good for larger mugs. It is the same height as the earlier model. It is nice for smaller espresso size cups.
Good stuff:
I very much like the variable cup volume size for those who like stronger or weaker coffee. The extra tea pod holder is great. I also like the blue lights on the base and in the display on the top. I like that the heating cycle is displayed on the top and the cup volume selection is easy with the top display. Extra tank capacity is very nice as well. (The "Better Together pairing with the Extra Large water tank is erroneous as mentioned by the previous reviewer.)
Overall, a great machine, love the look. Missed 5 stars with a poorly fitting water tank.

I purchased my first Senseo in July 2004. Since then I have purchased several more, both for my own use, for my office, for gifts and in my opinion the machines keep getting better and better. I like the option on this one of dispensing 3 portions into a large mug and the adjustable height of the spout is a great improvement.
However, the extra-large water tank offered as a "Better Together" bundle does not fit this machine. My mistake was not looking at the item description where it clearly states it fits only the HD7810 model.
Buy the machine but don't buy the water tank. I had no problems returning the item (Amazon is very accomodating)- I had already purchased extra-large water tanks for all of my other machines.
I have not timed it, but I believe this machine heats the water more rapidly than my first one, about the same as the Red HD7810 I have been using for the past several months.
In paticular, a great advantage of the Senseo is that, unlike most coffee makers, it does not have an exposed heating element. That means it can be used in places where electrical appliances that have exposed heat elements are forbidden. I have given a Senseo to a college student living in a dorm room where this was allowed but other coffee makers were not. I have given one to an elderly friend, living in an assisted living facility, again, where the rules state that appliances with exposed heating elements are forbidden in resident's rooms.
I have been mainly a tea drinker for most of my life. I did not like coffee unless it was freshly brewed within a few minutes of serving. Otherwise, to me it seemed to have a stale and oily component so I avoided drinking regular coffee. I did like espresso because each serving was freshly brewed.
I find the Senseo coffee the same. I prefer the Dark Roast and find that it has an excellent depth of flavor. The speed that it is brewed is also a great advantage to a busy person, as is the availability of different flavors so that each person can choose the type and flavor of coffee they prefer.
